Timothy Daniel Sullivan [1827-1914], born in Bantry, was MP for Westmeath and later for Dublin. His best-known songs include God Save Ireland, in memory of the Manchester Martyrs, and Ireland Boys, Hurrah. He was a member of the Irish Party and a supporter of the Land League. In 1888 he served two months in Tullamore Jail for publishing reports of banned Land League meetings.
