A 19TH CENTURY TURKOMAN AFGHAN RUG, the maroon ground centred with a row of four large medallions with bright crimson and deep navy highlights, the whole to a series of graduated borders consisting of interspersed hooked motifs towards the centre, followed outwards by bands of geometric and ropetwist decoration, to a fine exterior band highlighted in bright crimson. 139 x 119cm
