A RARE CELADON-GLAZED FACETED JAR AND COVER

清代 粉青釉四方雙繫蓋罐

China, Qing dynasty.

Covered overall with a soft celadon glaze, the jar features a quadrangular section with canted corners, a tapered neck, a pair of slender lug handles on the sloping shoulder, and a quadrangular cover with a slightly raised small handle and slanted edges surrounding the flat top.

Size.13 x 11 x 9 cm

Provenance: Irish private collection.

出处: 愛爾蘭私人收藏

NOTE

Porcelain wares with pinkish-blue glazes from the Yongzheng period were designed to imitate similar glaze varieties from the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty. However, when compared to the pinkish-blue glazes of the Yongle period, those from the Yongzheng period exhibit a purer and more substantial glaze layer.
